De thread pitch van de draad is de afstand tussen de draden uitgedrukt in millimeters (gemeten langs de lengte van het bevestigingsmiddel). Een pitch van 1,25 betekent bijvoorbeeld dat de afstand tussen de ene schroefdraad en de volgende 1,25 mm is.
