Kongo: The Greatest Love - Part 1

€ 4,58

Kongo is the coming of age story of Ekanga Lohembe, the rebellious princess from a cursed indigenous tribe in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Kimoni and Asha tribes have been cursed for several millennials by a majestic spirit that waits for them to learn the true definition of love. Ekanga hails from the Kimoni Tribe and refuses to conform to any of its rules and customs. She is constantly scolded by her family who worries about her curiosity about the outside world. After mistakenly leading the enemy troops into her village, Ekanga is banished from the tribe forever.

For three years, Ekanga resides in Bukavu, hundreds of miles away from home. Here, she meets afro-European Kashuan Jones, a foreign exchange student from London, England searching for ways to pay off his student loans. Kashuan has obtained the Love Stone stolen from the Kimoni Tribe and bargains with Ekanga to take him to her village to return the ancient artifact in exchange for gold. Reluctant, but hopeful that she has a chance of being admitted into her tribe again, Ekanga agrees to journey back home with the foreigner. Traveling with them is Iman, the notorious, hyper-active test subject who is eager to see the world after being confined within a research lab his entire life for science purposes.

Unbeknownst to Ekanga, Kashuan is working for scientists who intend to exploit the village for all of its treasures. Even if Ekanga is welcomed back into her village there is still the ancient curse that has yet to be broken. As the definition of love becomes more difficult to understand, the princess will have to tread carefully for this dangerous mission to succeed. In the midst of the trauma, Ekanga’s sole goal is to be happy.
