The Accidental Princess
Princess by Mistake: A Fantasy with Wit and Soul
Welcome to Meridell, where dragons moonlight as cab drivers, frying pans are practically alive, and magic has a mischievous mind of its own!
When the real Princess Ellarian disappears into the enigmatic Mirror of Alternatives, the kingdom gets an accidental replacement: Violet. She’s a motormouth who concocts potions with chaotic side effects and whose best friend is a wooden stool. She may be a walking disaster, but what if this "mistake" is the only one who can save the kingdom?
A hilarious, enchanting, and deeply human tale about learning to be yourself, especially when the whole world thinks you’re somebody else.
Prologue
There was nothing ordinary about the Kingdom of Meridell: dragons worked as taxi drivers (sometimes grumbling about sky traffic), unicorns were allergic to lavender, and wizards… mostly handled bureaucracy at the Ministry of Unexplainable Phenomena.
But long before all that, in the very heart of the kingdom, a princess named Ellarian was born. All hopes were placed upon her, for an ancient prophecy foretold:
“When the crown faces the threat of fracture, only the true daughter of Meridell shall save the realm with her wisdom.”
No one, however, bothered to read the fine print footnote warning of potential side effects.
The princess grew up clever and inquisitive — but painfully introverted. She preferred books on theoretical magic to grand balls, and conversations with ancient artifacts over small talk with powdered dukes.
The pressure mounted. Advisors demanded she become a symbol: go out into the world, smile, and wave.
Ellarian, however, felt like an exhibit in the museum of her own life.
On the eve of her coming of age — the night she was to be officially declared heir to the throne — she made a desperate decision.
In the farthest tower of the castle was kept a forbidden artifact: the Mirror of Alternatives.
