Renata, beautiful ex-actress, from a wealthy local family, visits a prison inmate, referred by a prison reformer friend, to research ideas for a movie about prison corruption. She is now a script writer and small-time film director. In the prison she gets to know David Diaz, whose unusual career drove him into prison. In prison he is shadowed by a blackmarket prison conspiracy into which he's been unwillingly drawn. Renata and David collaborate to uncover and reveal the conspiracy, which turns out to be much more than a mere blackmarket operation. Their work together generates passion, while their inquiries inflame violent retaliation. Will they escape with their lives?
