My Lady Caprice

The story begins with the narrator, a young man named Richard Ferrars, fishing in the River Avon. He is interrupted by the arrival of Lady Warburton, a wealthy and eccentric woman who lives in the nearby village. Lady Warburton is accompanied by her niece, Lisbeth, a beautiful and intelligent young woman.Richard is immediately smitten with Lisbeth, and she seems to reciprocate his feelings. However, Lisbeth is also known for her capricious nature, and she is not always easy to understand.Richard and Lisbeth spend a lot of time together, and they eventually fall in love. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Lisbeth is engaged to be married to another man, Lord Everleigh.Lord Everleigh is a wealthy and powerful man, but he is also arrogant and cruel.
