Raw Milk and Guts, Book One

€ 3,99

The title might imply this book is about Russia, Vietnam and the Cold War. It is a little, but the book contains some childhood recollections that I think my children should know about, and that I hope my grand children will want to have access to. The book is about honor, duty, and integrity. It is about laziness and 'pronouns'. Some parts will be offensive to liberals but the book is not political. It has some social commentary on feminism and trans-this, trans-that and trans-fat but not too much. It has too much history. Some history of England and English, some history of Prussia and Germany, and some history of the United States. The book is written in simple sentences but at times, you might need to take notes. Chapters can be read in almost any order. I think you might consider starting with the last chapter first as it is about the Pledge of Allegiance and how it is not taught in schools these days.

...

I explained to my children that the words 'honor' and 'honesty' are essentially the same. You cannot have one without the other. Honor is the hard-fought effort to be honest. Honesty is the hard-fought effort to be thoughtful, fair, and truthful.

...

Patriotism can be an honest and humble respect for the country's ideals. It is honorable to be humble because we never know everything. Humility, therefore, is a state of Grace that is below Heaven but still is quite high. It encompasses honor, honesty, truth and wisdom, and elevates human beings over those who are 'only human'.

...

Knowledge, like honor, must be gained through hard work and good deeds.

To be a good American, we each have to agree that the principles put forth by the Founding Fathers are the uniting qualities of our national identity. From the Declaration of Independence we have the following: God created Nature to encompass all Life. Nature oversees Natural Law. Within the boundaries of Natural Law are the concepts of Free Will and Reason, which lead to more refined concepts of equality and liberty. God wants us to use Free Will and Reason to fix problems.
