Merliah Summers is an incredible swimmer, a super-star surfer and queen of her Malibu high school. All of a sudden, strange things start to happen to her: her hair turns pink in the sea, she learns she can breathe underwater and even speak dolphin! Merliah soon finds out that she is a mermaid princess and that her mother is Queen Calissa. However, Calissa's queendom, Oceana, is in trouble and Merliah realises that it is up to her to save it.
