The Lusitania Tragedy

Productinformatie

The RMS Lusitania passenger liner was torpedoed and sank off the coast of Ireland by a German U-boat on May 15, 1916. 1,198 civilian lives were lost and 761 survived. Some survivors were reluctant to retell the story of their survival but many in various ways spoke of their experiences. Daniel Taylor Brown was one of those who survived and publically spoke. He boldly tells his story and the story of some who not only survived but died during this time. The reader cannot help but be transported to that time and place of great confusion, fear and heroism. You will not only hear of a persons will to survive a rapidly sinking ship against all odds, but the stabbing pain and sorrow of watching the Lusitania sink. It continues with the helplessness of witnessing those in the water die. The unmitigated trauma continued for those in the life rafts as they endured defenselessly as death and loss surrounded them. With shocking detail Daniel Brown relates this horror to us. Mr. Brown waited a year to publically speak of the tragedy he and others endured. His story is presented here with a style of writing that conveys not only his heart of grief for those who suffered and died but for an accountability of those who were the perpetrators.
