Thalassa is het debuut solo album van Ioanna Gika, ook wel bekend als IO Echo. Gika schreef al eerder muziek voor een aantal grote films zoals Harmony Korine’s Rebel en Universal Pictures’ Dracula. Ook ontving ze een Acadamy-shortlist nominatie voor haar nummer Gone in Snow White and The Huntsman.
